As of January 23, 2024, the German government has embarked on an initiative to attract skilled labor from Vietnam.

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Federal Labor Minister Hubertus Heil, during a state visit to Vietnam, highlighted the significance of this venture in Hanoi.

Germany recognizes Vietnam as a crucial ally in addressing its skilled labor shortage.

A bilateral agreement was inked between the labor ministers of both nations, following dialogues with Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong.

Both Steinmeier and Heil voiced their optimism for what they anticipate to be a fruitful collaboration.
